Several teams of Saline County Career Center DECA students were rewarded for presenting their projects at the Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference held March 11-13.
According to a news release, DECA students presented projects which were evaluated by a judging panel of more than 100 business and industry professionals.
The SCCC DECA teams which placed in the top-five include: Anna Hartley and Rileigh Massey placing second with their Public Relations Project, “Hoot Resource Center.”; Zach Baker, Logan Evans, and Katherine Miles placing third with their Public Relations Project, “Project DECA.”; Rhiannon Bowlen and Katherine Greathouse placing second with their Community Service Project, “Baby Grace.”; and Elijah Jackson and T-Love William placing fifth with their Creative Marketing Project, “Clean Freaks.”
Also, DECA member Elijah Falls was recognized for placing first in the Missouri in the Personal Finance Virtual Business Simulation Challenge.
With all the accomplishments, nine SCCC students also qualified to present their projects at the next level at the DECA International Career Development Conference held April 20-25, in Atlanta, Georgia.
A DECA Showcase and dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at the Marshall High School Commons, with all proceeds going to help pay expenses for the Atlanta competition.
