A Harrisonville man faces a couple of felony charges for allegedly stealing items from a store which he reportedly was banned from in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says 40-year-old Charles Newton reportedly is seen on video surveillance removing “spider wires” from two vacuums worth about $200 each from Walmart in Sedalia on March 2, 2018. Newton reportedly exited the store without paying for the items, and reportedly was the suspect in 25 other stealing incidents and was banned from entering any Walmart on June 19, 2017.
Online court documents say Newton has been charged with a Class B Felony for First-Degree Burglary and a Class E Felony for Stealing-Fourth or Subsequent Offense within 10 Years. Bond has not yet been set.
Newton’s initial hearing is pending at the Pettis County Circuit Court.
