A Marshall man who allegedly was assaulting a woman while she was driving a vehicle on Thursday, March 15, has been charged with a felony in Saline County.
According to a probable-cause statement, Saline County deputies responded to a call in reference to a “rolling domestic” on Northbound U.S. Highway 65 near Mount Olive Road.
After a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, the woman who was driving reportedly told the deputy that the passenger had grabbed her by her hair and around her neck, as well as grabbed the steering wheel and put the gear shift in neutral while the vehicle was in motion. A witness reportedly told authorities the vehicle swerved into the passing lane, and it appeared the passenger struck the driver eight to 10 times.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued, and Bruce Duane Garner has been charged with a Class E Felony for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree. Bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety, with several conditions, including that he’s not to have any contact with the alleged victim.
Garner’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court is pending.
