A Malta Bend teen suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash in Saline County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 17-year-old Mordiance Wheeler, reportedly traveled off the roadway, went airborne and struck an embankment.
Wheeler, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Saline County E.M.S. to Staff for Life helicopter and flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. on Highway 20, four-tenths of a mile west of Gem Avenue.
