Area residents are invited to attend an Arbor Day event at a mini-park located near the Katy Trail in Sedalia on Friday, April 6.
According to a news release, City of Sedalia staff members will distribute approximately 1,000 tree-seedlings to several local businesses at the mini-park located on the northwest side of the intersection of Clarendon Road and the Katy Trail. The trees are being provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation
The Katy Trail at Clarendon Road mini-park has become home to 77 trees in an ongoing effort by several community organizations to enhance its features. Future plans for the mini-park reportedly include a restroom facility with solar lighting, a play area, a hitching post area for horses and bicycle racks for cyclists enjoying the Katy Trail.
