A Boonville man has been charged with a felony for allegedly jumping in front of a moving vehicle, then into its passenger’s seat and attempting to take the keys out of the ignition on February 23.
According to a probable-cause statement, the incident happened on County Road 467 in Howard County. Law enforcement took a statement from the driver of the vehicle, and then reportedly found Dimitrix McCoy, who fit the description given to them by the driver, walking on County Road 467.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued, and McCoy has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only.
An initial hearing for McCoy is pending at Howard County Circuit Court.
