A Cooper County student achieved the highest possible ACT composite score recently, which is a very rare accomplishment as about one-tenth of a percent of students earn the top score in the United States.
According to a news release, Boonville High School Junior Tyler Schuster, son of Scott and Kathryn Schuster, of Blackwater, recorded a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, which is the average of test scores in English, mathematics, reading and science. The ACT is a curriculum-based achievement exam which measures what students have learned in school.
In 2017, only 2,760 out of more than 2 million students who took the ACT, earned a perfect composite score.
