QUESTION
“Shall the city of Brunswick impose a local use tax on purchases from vendors outside the state of Missouri at the same rate as the local sales-tax rate for purchases from vendors in the city of Brunswick, currently at 2% provided that this local use tax shall be reduced or raised at the same time and by the same amount, if the local sales-tax rate is reduced or raised by voter approval?”
A use-tax return shall not be required to be filed by persons whose purchases from out-of-state vendors do not exceed $2,000 in total in any calendar year. The proceeds from the local use tax will be restricted for the repair and maintenance of streets in the city of Brunswick.
