In addition to voting in Saline County, the race for Mayor in Blackburn will include votes from Lafayette County. Running against the incumbent Karlin Breshears is Karen Sims.
There also is a race for Mayor in Lexington. In the mix are Fred Wiedner, Douglas Cox, Bill Harvish and Bob Estill.
Two persons are vying for one council seat in Lexington, In Ward 2, the race is between Carolyn Houseworth and Delmar Dothage.
Other races include: in Waverly– City Council, Ward 2 — Jerry Gipe vs. Jared Cooper; Concordia Board of Alderman First Ward– Dwight Emde vs. Christopher Hass.
School board races are going on in several districts.
Concordia R-2 has three candidates running– Steven Borgstadt, Tim Kirchhoff and Rob Hemme– for two seats; five persons running for two seats on the Santa Fe R-10 School Board– Brad Hinz, Megan Curry, Susanne Kuecker, Jennifer Hostetter and Don Bolser; three persons for two spots on the Wellington-Napoleon School Board– David Twente, Glennon “Mike” Wayne Zykan III and Diane Rukavina; three persons for two seats on the Lafayette County C-1 School Board– Nicky Bennett, Brent Schlotzhauer and Rori Schreiman; and nine persons– James McCrary, Derrick Johnson, Donna Mae Sims, Jennifer Ann Schneader, Daniel Grosso Jr., Marlena Ellen Balvin, Michael Lichte, Carrie Bollmeyer and Scott Schumacher– for two seats on the Lexington R-5 School Board.
Countywide, residents are being asked to renew a half-cent sales tax measure; and other cities and school districts have some tax and bond issues.
