A Sweet Springs man has been charged with a felony for allegedly pointing a weapon at another person during an incident on March 30.
According to a probable-cause statement, when told by authorities to drop the knife, 21-year-old David Diodonet reportedly fled the scene in the 300 block of East Ray Street. He reportedly had to be physically apprehended because he refused to surrender near the intersection of Walnut Street. The statement says Diodonet reportedly first pulled the knife on the man inside a house full of children.
Online court documents say a warrant has been issued, and Diodonet has been charged with a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting- and resisting-arrest and drug-related misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $5,000 cash only.
Diodonet’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court is pending.
