In order to avoid a possible conflict of interest, newly-elected Sweet Springs Mayor Franny Vaught rescinded his previously-approved bid for mowing of the city park for this year.
During the meeting of the Board of Aldermen on Monday, April 9, Everett Peeples, a member of the park board, asked aldermen what he needs to do to get somebody in there and start mowing.

The board decided the project will need to be put out for bid again.
In another action, the board approved a two-year contract with Randall C. Fiene, CPA, in Concordia to conduct the city’s audit. The cost will be $5,200 for 2018 and $5,400 for 2019.
