After accepting the results of the Municipal Election, a new mayor was sworn in at the meeting of the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen on Monday, April 9.
Outgoing Mayor Dee Friel said she enjoyed her time working for the city.

Friel also said she commends all of the city’s employees for their hard work and dedication.
Incoming Mayor Franny Vaught says he wants to do what’s best for the city.

According to the final vote total from Saline County Clerk Debbie Russell, Vaught won the race 157-101.
