An area man died as a result of injuries he sustained in a traffic crash in Pettis County on Thursday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Timothy Callahan, of Green Ridge, reportedly began to skid, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Callahan reportedly was transported by E.M.S. to Bothwell Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by a doctor at 11:54 p.m. A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Lindsey Breads, of La Monte, reportedly was flown by Life Flight helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. Each of the vehicle’s occupants reportedly was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Route B, just west of Ragar Road.
