A traffic stop on April 11 led to the arrest and felony drug-related charges being filed against two Poplar Bluff residents in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, during a consented search of the vehicle, authorities allegedly found 16 sealed bags of marijuana. Each bag reportedly weighed 28 grams for a total weight of 448 grams.
According to online court documents, 35-year-old Jonathan Matthews and 32-year-old Kallista Dennis were arrested. Each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana. Bond for each has been set at $15,000, with several conditions.
Each defendant was arraigned while in custody and entered a plea of not guilty on April 12. The next hearing for each subject is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
