At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, April 12, Northern District Commissioner Richard Clemens gave an update about what happened at the latest meeting of the Task Force, which was on Wednesday, April 11.
Clemens said there are some bylaws which have been proposed to be changed.

Clemens said the commission has been in touch with the county’s lawyer Joey McLiney about the bonding, and the county is in good shape.

The half-cent sales tax for economic development throughout the county passed by voters on April 3 will go into effect on October 1. The county will start receiving proceeds in November.
About a third of the estimated proceeds has been earmarked for a water project at the junction of U.S. Highway 65 and I-70. The sales tax is estimated to rake in about $22 million over its 20-year lifetime.
