The particulars of the original document changed a little bit, but the Marshall City Council pulled the trigger to approve an agreement with a retail recruiting agency during its meeting on Monday, April 16.
City Administrator David Haugland explained the city cannot enter into an agreement that extends longer than a year at a time.
Haugland said there is no penalty to the city if it gives Buxton Company a 60-day notice if it cannot continue the contract.
According to the ordinance, the city will pay Buxton Company $50,000 per year for the development of strategies for retail recruitment and retention.
