The Sedalia City Council approved a couple items of business before the newly elected mayor and council members were sworn in during a meeting on Monday, April 16.
Outgoing Mayor Stephen Galliher opened the meeting with two public hearings regarding the establishment of the Crossing Community Improvement District and proposed sewer rate increases, which no public comment was made in each of the hearings.
After the public hearings, the council approved the purchase of a piece of equipment for the street department; new ballistic body armor and helmets for the police department; the new sewer rates; and the petition for the creation of the Crossing Community Improvement District.
After the approvals, Galliher reflected on his time as mayor and gave support to newly elected Mayor John Kehde(top left).

A ceremony was held after Galliher’s speech, where Kehde officially was named mayor after he took the Oath of Office.
