Raises for some employees were approved, while more information was requested to be gathered, perhaps leading to a larger increase for others in the Marshall Public School District.
During the meeting of the Marshall School Board on Tuesday, April 17, the board approved 1.54-percent raises for building principals and extra-duty salaries. However, board member Eddie Harper questioned whether or not the raise for classified staff members shouldn’t be higher than the proposed 1.54 percent.

New board member Erin Williams said more data should be collected before a decision is made.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said the 1.54-percent raise does not include a step on the pay scale, as well.

After more discussion, the board decided to table a decision on raises for classified staff until more data can be gathered.
