During the meeting of the Marshall School Board on Tuesday, April 17, the board was asked to approve the district seeking another school resource officer to help ensure the safety of the students and staff.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher explains.

Dr. Maher said the current resource officer, Sam Gibson, will be assigned to Marshall High School and will stay there during school days.

Dr. Maher said a recommendation to hire the best candidate for the position will be made at the next school board meeting in May.
In other news, the board approved the dates for summer school as June 4-28. Dr. Maher said sessions will be held at Bueker Middle and Benton Elementary Schools. The board also gave the approval of the school safety, Parents as Teachers, assessment and guidance-counselor program reviews and the date of the June meeting being changed to June 19.
