Two out-of-state tractor-trailer drivers suffered injuries in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Thursday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound freightliner, driven by Oleksandr Samodin, of Hallendale Beach, Fla., reportedly turned in front of an eastbound freightliner, driven by 49-year-old Michael Schwartz, of Hettick, Ill.
While Samodin reportedly refused treatment of unspecified injuries at the scene, Schwartz was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash happened just before 7:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 24 at the intersection of Missouri Highway 23.
