The Slater FFA Chapter place first in the state in a career development event at the 90th Missouri FFA Convention in Columbia on April 19-20.
According to a news release, the Slater FFA chapter got top honors out of 44 other teams from across the state in the Farm Management event. Contestants in this event are analyzed by solving real-life business problems by completing a detailed exam to prove their understanding of economic principles.
Slater FFA team members in the event were Ben Borgman, Cassie Eddy, Jaylee Hazell and Johnny Johnson. Individually, Borgman placed first, Eddy placed third, Hazell placed 11th and Johnson placed 33rd out of 168 participants. The Slater FFA Chapter advisor is Zach Crews.
