A benefit walk/run event that has grown in popularity over the past decade will be held in Pettis County on Saturday, April 28.
According to a news release, the annual Bothwell Foundation Lub-Dub 5K/10K Walk/Run will be held beginning at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. The race starts at 8 a.m.
Bothwell Foundation Director Lauren Thiel says the event was created in memory of Camye Callis Gaspard who died suddenly from a heart attack. She says all proceeds will benefit the Bothwell Foundation’s Camye Callis Gaspard Memorial Heart Fund to provide education and awareness of heart disease in Pettis and Benton Counties.

Thiel says the number of participants has grown exponentially over the past decade.

Registration the day of the event will begin at 7 a.m.
Registration fees are $35 for the 5K Walk/Run and $40 for the 10K Walk/Run. The fee for the Kids’ Run, which Thiel says starts at 9 a.m., is $10.
