Authorities allegedly found a controlled substance tucked inside a bible at a law-enforcement facility, and a Gilliam man has been charged with a felony in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says authorities found marijuana in an inmate’s cell at the Saline County Jail in March. The accused man claimed to have no knowledge of the substance nor any idea of how it got in his bible.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and Gary Lee Johnson has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance at a County Jail. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
