Two persons riding on a motorcycle sustained injuries in a traffic crash involving three vehicles on Saturday in Johnson County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Harley Davidson, driven by 31-year-old Dustin Tracy, of Warrensburg, and a truck, driven by 64-year-old David Baxter, of Warrensburg, were traveling westbound, and a vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Charity Hatcher, of Knob Noster, was traveling eastbound. The Hatcher vehicle met the motorcycle, which reportedly was traveling close to the center line. In an attempt to avoid striking the motorcycle, Hatcher reportedly overcorrected her vehicle, which caused her vehicle to cross the center line and strike Baxter’s vehicle. The motorcycle reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.
While Hatcher and Baxter reportedly were not injured, Tracy suffered moderate injuries and was transported by E.M.S. to Research Hospital in Kansas City for treatment. A passenger on the bike, 26-year-old Christa Arnold, of Warrensburg, reportedly was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Research Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. on Southeast 691 Road and Southeast Route DD.
