A 67-year-old Warsaw man reportedly drowned in Benton County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man’s boat was reported to be floating unoccupied. A trooper and a member of the Corps of Engineers responded with a rescue and recovery boat to commence dragging operations. The subject reportedly was located next to his fishing line, which was tangled in a tree.
Sherman Wright was pronounced deceased at the scene at 7:35 p.m. by Coroner Weston Miller.
The incident happened at Truman Lake near Osage Bluff Marina.
