The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved one of four bids received for this year’s Sewer Collection System Rehab project during a regular-session meeting on Thursday, May 3.
According to Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper, the Sewer Rehab Project was started in 2008, and each year around 10,000 feet of sewer main is scheduled to be replaced using the Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) method.
Piper explains the work planned for this year and gives his recommendation on a bid.

The board approved the low bid from VISU Sewer, Inc., of East St. Louis, Ill., for $290,451.10. The bid will now have to be approved by the Marshall City Council during its next meeting.
In other business, Piper said he will hopefully have bids out by the end of next week for the repainting of the water tower.
