Earlier this week, an update was given on the search for a new director of the Marshall Public Library during the meeting of the board of trustees.
According to board president Marsha Williams, four candidates have been interviewed, and three more are going to be interviewed soon for the position, which has been open since Wicky Sleight retired on March 31.
Williams said the hope is to interview all of the candidates and have a selection made in time for the next meeting of the board on Tuesday, June 12. The board’s selection will then need to be approved by the Marshall City Council.
In other news, Williams said a presentation was made by Cindy Harper and Molly Johnson regarding the summer reading program. She said it will kick off with a gala event on Monday, June 4. More details will be released at a later date.
