A Holden resident who allegedly assaulted a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and then fled a casino on May 10 has been charged with multiple felonies in Cooper County.
According to a probable-cause statement, Brian Kyle Campbell was advised to leave the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville. However, authorities say he struck the trooper on duty with a closed fist and fled on foot. Police officers located Campbell, and they say he refused to obey several commands to get on the ground. Officers eventually drive-stunned Campbell and took him into custody.
According to online court documents, Campbell has been charged with a Class B Felony for Burglary in the First Degree; a Class D Felony for Assault in the Third Degree- Special Victim; and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest for a Felony. Campbell reportedly paid bond before a warrant was served.
Campbell’s initial appearance at Cooper County Circuit Court is pending.
