The Slater City Council heard a couple of progress reports regarding Steve McQueen Day and the city pool during its meeting on Tuesday, May 15.
City Administrator Gene Griffith said everything is ready to go for Steve McQueen Day on June 16, but needs volunteers for the event.

Griffith said to contact the city office building if interested in volunteering for the event.
In other business, Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri said the city pool is scheduled to be open soon, but the recent weather is causing some issues.

Griffith added the water might be cold, but the Slater City Pool will be open on Memorial Day.
