A Cooper County resident was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Callaway County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 55-year-old Bradley Leake, of Perry, was crossing U.S. Highway 54 and reportedly failed to yield to a southbound vehicle, driven by 19-year-old Austin Bitner, of Mexico. The Bitner vehicle reportedly struck the Leake vehicle in the passenger’s side.
While neither driver reportedly was injured, 21-year-old Chelby Apel, of Boonville, a passenger in Bitner’s vehicle, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened just after 5 p.m. at Dunn Drive.
