A standoff with law enforcement ended peacefully in Marshall on Sunday, May 20.
According to a release from the Marshall Police Department, at approximately 5 p.m., Marshall Police dispatch received an emergency telephone call in regards to a disturbance in the area of Kay Street.
Upon the arrival of officers, a 58-year-old Marshall man brandished a firearm and then barricaded himself inside the residence. Marshall Police secured the area while the Missouri State Highway Patrol S.W.A.T. team was contacted and responded.
After speaking with the man over a period of time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was able to have the man walk out of the residence, where he was taken into custody.
The man’s name is being withheld pending formal charges being filed by the Saline County Prosecuting Attorney.
