A Brunswick teen has been charged with a felony for an alleged incident of burglary in Chariton County on Sunday, May 20.
A probable-cause statement says just before 11 p.m., a resident was awoken by a noise coming from the living room of her home in the 600 block of West Broadway in Brunswick. 19-year-old Montez Hughes was noticed to be standing in the living room and fled the area after the resident yelled for him to leave. A screen to window was noticed to be lying on the ground outside the residence, and the window was open where Hughes allegedly entered.
Online court documents say Hughes has been charged with a Class B Felony of Burglary in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $5,000 cash only.
Hughes’ initial hearing at Chariton County Circuit Court is pending.
