Two Smithton residents sustained injuries in a traffic crash in Pettis County on Monday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 73-year-old William Sawford, reportedly traveled off the right side of the roadway, impacted a ditch, traveled airborne across another roadway, impacted another ditch and came to rest in a field.
The driver suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in the vehicle, 65-year-old Donna Sawford sustained moderate injuries. They were transported by Pettis County ambulance to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia for treatment.
The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Highway 135 at Olive Branch Road.
