An Excelsior Springs resident suffered fatal injuries in a rollover traffic crash in Pettis County on Friday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as 49-year-old Tammie Garrett-Butler, of Excelsior Springs, reportedly overcorrected her southbound vehicle while changing lanes, and the vehicle began to skid. The vehicle traveled off the roadway, impacted a ditch, went airborne and came to rest on its top.
While the driver reportedly was not injured, a passenger in the vehicle, 53-year-old David Butler, was transported by Pettis County E.M.S. to Bothwell Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by a doctor at 7:17 p.m.
The crash happened just after 5:45 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65, north of Violet Road.
