A Hope, Arkansas resident has been charged with a felony for purchasing about $17,000 worth of furniture using stolen credit card numbers earlier this year in Pettis County.
A probable-cause statement says on January 15, 26-year-old Trenise Boston entered a furniture store in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in Sedalia. Boston allegedly used three different credit card numbers to purchase various pieces of furniture which totaled $16,792.87. An employee stated he thought the transaction seem suspicious as he had not seen a customer enter credit card information manually. Boston was later apprehended at a furniture store in Jefferson City and was found to be in possession of 43 credit cards.
Online court documents say Boston has been charged with a Class E Felony for Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Device. Bond was set at $20,000 cash only.
Boston is scheduled to appear in front of the judge for a plea/trial setting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
