The Marshall City Council considered recommendations for the hiring of two candidates for the police department during its meeting on Monday, June 4.
Mayor Mark Gooden details the recommendation from the Police Personnel Board to hire two patrolmen.

Police Chief Mike Donnell said both candidates are very qualified and would help out the department, so the council approved the recommendations.
In other business, Marshall Public Library Board President Marsha Williams announced the hiring of Anmarie Rahner as the new library director. Rahner is currently the eLearning Director of the Murrell Library at Missouri Valley College and is working on her Masters Degree in Library Science at the University of Missouri.
Rahner is scheduled to take over as Marshall Library Director on July 1, 2018.
