An update on the progress of recruiting businesses to town was heard by the Marshall City Council during its meeting on Monday, June 4.
City Administrator David Haugland said he and Ward 1 Councilman Ron Ott recently spoke with representatives of Buxton Company to get an update on recruiting businesses for Marshall.

Haugland could not disclose which companies have been identified as potential suitors, but said he personally liked the companies. Ott also added it has been a busy couple of weeks for him in speaking with potential businesses which includes a new grocery store and hotel.
In other business, Ward 4 Councilman Rudy Reyes said he received a letter from the chamber of commerce regarding the upcoming Independence Day celebration.

The council approved the motion.
