A Holden woman sustained serious injures in a traffic crash in Johnson County on Friday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as the driver of a southbound vehicle, 26-year-old Anthony Wilkes, of Kansas City, reportedly was exceeding the speed limit and lost control of the vehicle which began to slide sideways. The vehicle traveled to the left side of the roadway and was struck by a northbound vehicle, driven by 41-year-old Melissa Cole.
Cole was transported by Johnson County ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, and Wilkes was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, as each were treated for serious injures.
The crash happened at 11 a.m. on Business Highway 13, just north of Route DD in Warrensburg.
