A Carrollton man has been charged with a felony for the alleged possession of controlled substances while being evicted from a motel last week in Carroll County.
A probable-cause statement says on June 6, police officers responded to the Carrollton Inn to oversee the eviction process of 35-year-old Donnie Fry. The officers reportedly observed in plain view a white, crystal-like substance on a table next to the entry door. The substance tested positive for amphetamines, and a warranted search of the room revealed a baggie of Ritalin, a controlled prescription medication not prescribed to Fry.
Online court documents say Fry has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabis and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $35,000 cash or licensed surety with 10 percent not allowed.
Fry’s initial hearing at Carroll County Circuit Court is pending.
