A Wellington resident sustained moderate injuries in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Monday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Mahayla Powell, reportedly traveled off the roadway in a curve, struck an embankment and then a tree.
Powell reportedly was transported by E.M.S. to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.
The crash happened at about 5 a.m. on Highway 131, a half-mile north of Route FF.
