Three Illinois residents have been charged with multiple counts of a felony in Chariton County for allegedly using a fraudulent credit or debit device to make purchases at a store on May 28.
According to a probable-cause statement, an employee of Casey’s General Store in Salisbury told authorities three men used the device(s) to purchase cigarettes and gift cards. One of the purchases was for $766.96 and another was for $276.29. The suspects reportedly were confirmed by authorities after they viewed surveillance video.
Online court documents say 27-year-old Devon D. Kimbrough and 31-year-old Gregory J. Joiner, of Chicago, and 29-year-old Robert A. Wilson, of Homewood, each has been charged with four counts of a Class E Felony for Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Device. Bond has not been set.
An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Chariton County Circuit Court.
