Van Meter State Park will host two free, family-friendly programs from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 16.
According to a news release, Native American Games will be held at the park’s ball field, where participants will learn about and play culturally-important traditional games that Native Americans have used throughout history to teach children hunting skills and sacred stories and to build community.
Mammal Mayhem will be held in the park’s small shelter house, where participants will learn to identify the different types of mammals that live at the park and in other state parks around Missouri.
Van Meter State Park is located 12 miles north of Marshall on Highway 122, near Miami.
