A heat advisory has been issued for this afternoon and the rest of the weekend in the KMMO listening area, and cooling centers are being established in Saline County for residents in need.
Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day lists off some of the cooling centers in the area.

Day added residents need to contact their local officials to see which cooling centers will be available during the weekend since most city offices are closed. Also, residents can contact their local fire or police departments to get information on which cooling centers are available on the weekend.
Day also said the I-70 Hospital in Sweet Springs is open 24/7 and is available for anyone who is in need of a break from the heat.
