Featuring roughly 1,000 contestants from 43 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia and Mexico, the National Junior High Finals Rodeo is the world’s largest.
According to a news release, the rodeo will be held June 24-30 in Huron, SD, and an area student-athlete will be competing.
Karsyn Fuchs, a seventh-grade student at Bueker Middle School in Marshall, has qualified to compete in girls’ goat-tying at the 14th annual event . She is the daughter of Robbie and Miranda Fuchs, of Marshall.
The initial rodeo performance will be held at 7 p.m. on June 24. Each day thereafter, the rodeo will have competitions at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The championship performance will be broadcast on RFD-TV beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 30.
