A Brookfield man has been charged with a felony after authorities allegedly found controlled substances at his residence earlier this week in Linn County.
A probable-cause statement says at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, Brookfield Police officers arrived at the residence of 46-year-old Bobby Ray Waddle to conduct a probation and parole visit, where Waddle was noticed to be asleep in his vehicle. Waddle reportedly told officers nothing illegal was inside the residence and gave permission for them to search the home.
The search uncovered two small baggies of methamphetamine, a loaded syringe and other drug paraphernalia.
Online court documents say Waddle has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabis and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond was set at $50,00o cash or surety with 10 percent allowed.
Waddle’s initial hearing at Linn County Circuit Court is pending.
