In order to get the ball rolling on a project to get water piped to the south side of I-70 at Marshall Junction, Saline County Commissioners have signed a cooperative agreement with the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation (MSDC).
During the meeting of the commission on Thursday, June 21, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner outlined the obligation of each party during the agreement. In essence, MSDC will front the $20,000 to $25,000 needed to fund a hydraulic analysis needed.

Fenner said commissioners promised voters the work would start as soon as possible after passage of the half-cent sales-tax measure that was on the April ballot.

The half-cent sales tax will go into effect on October 1, 2018, and sunset on December 31, 2038.
