After a traffic stop and subsequent consented search of a vehicle, two Brookfield residents have been charged with a felony for allegedly being in possession of drug-related items on June 20.
According to a probable-cause statement, the officer found a glasses case containing a cut straw, a baggie and two cellophane wrappers, all of which contained a crystal-like residue. The officer also located a small baggie containing a crystal-like residue on one of the occupants.
According to online court documents, 25-year-old Frank Douglas Nejedly and 39-year-old Brandy Michelle Reed each has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid and a drug-related misdemeanor.
Each defendant waived formal arraignment and was allowed to post personal-recognizance bond on June 21. Each is due for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at Linn County Circuit Court.
