Two Higginsville residents suffered moderate injures in a traffic accident in Texas County on Saturday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as the driver of a westbound vehicle, 48-year-old Jill Hayes, reportedly overcorrected the vehicle as it was traveling off the left side of the roadway, where the vehicle then traveled of the right side of the roadway and stuck a tree.
Hayes and a 10-year-old passenger reportedly were transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston for treatment of injures. Both occupants reportedly were not wearing seat belts during the accident.
The accident happened just after 8:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 60, four miles west of Cabool.
