A warrant has been issued and a Jefferson City man who allegedly stole a vehicle a woman had purchased for him the day before has been charged with a felony in Cooper County.
The woman said she and Larry Brittian had purchased a vehicle with her money from a dealer in Marshall on May 23. She said he was supposed to pay her back the $12,500. However, the next day, she awoke and Brittian, the paperwork and the vehicle all were gone. She said when she attempted to contact Brittian, she found that he had disconnected his phone and deleted his profile off of a dating website.
Authorities say Brittian has three active warrants– two for larceny and one for shoplifting– out for his arrest.
According to online court documents, Brittian has been charged with a Class D Felony for Stealing a Motor Vehicle.
Brittian’s initial appearance at Cooper County Circuit Court is pending.
