A 19-year-old Sweet Springs resident has been charged with a sex-related felony involving a juvenile.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities believe that sometime in November 2017 Kurtis A.G. Walden went into the basement with a 13-year-old female, advised her to remove her clothes and proceeded to have sex with her.
Online court documents say Walden has been charged with an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Rape or Attempted Statutory Rape with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old– Aggravated Sexual Offense. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash only, with special unspecified conditions.
Walden appeared in custody via video for his arraignment hearing on Monday, June 25. His cause has been continued for a counsel-status hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Saline County Circuit Court.
